Believed to be the second deepest lake in Africa (up to 900m deep), Lake Bunyonyi is a serene high-altitude body of water dotted with 29 emerald green islands and ringed by terraced hillside farms. It is completely free of bilharzia, hippos, and crocodiles, making it one of the few safe swimming and canoeing lakes in Africa.
